National Dog Day, observed annually on August 26th, is meant to celebrate all dogs regardless of breed as well as bring awareness to the number of dogs in need of rescue and permanent homes. To spread awareness, I’m sharing a card that is not only quick & easy but also super adorable.

INSTRUCTIONS
ASSEMBLY
First, cut/trim all cardstock and DSP as described above
Die Cutting
Using your die cutting machine and Playful Alphabet Dies, die cut the following letters: one (1) “W”, two (2) “O”s, and one (1) “F”. Optional: adhere the dies to red cardstock backed with Foam Adhesive Sheets to add dimension
Select the sheet of DSP that includes the gray dog (he’s facing the right with a smile on his face); trim the dog out of the paper and using the coordinating die from Playful Pets Dies, run the paper through your die cutting machine to cut out the dog image. Optional: fussy cut the dog out of the DSP
Stamping & Fussy Cutting
Stamp the food bowl on a small piece / scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock
Fussy cut the bowl
Putting it All Together – Top Layer / Card Front
Adhere the 5” x 1” panel strip to the front of your card base in the position of your choosing. The red cardstock strip is adhered ½” from the left side of the card base.
Adhere the cut piece of the DSP on top of the red panel strip approximately ¼” to the right of the placement of the red cardstock strip
Using adhesive (liquid glue recommended or the Foam Adhesive Sheets), adhere the die cut letters for the word “WOOF” to the top of your DSP layer. The word is placed on a downward angle from the left side of the DSP, starting at ¾” down from the top of the DSP.
Wrap ribbon of your choosing from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack around the front of the card base and tie the ends to make a bow
Adhere the dog using foam dimensionals (or the adhesive of your choosing) on top of the ribbon, on the bottom left corner of the card front
Adhere the food bowl using foam dimensionals (or the adhesive of your choosing) near the dog image
