  • Embossing Folder: Timeworn Type 3D

Cardstock Measurements (Imperial)

  • Card Base: Gray Granite measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

  • Layer #1: Gray Granite measuring 5 1/4" x 4"

  • Layer #2: DSP (see image below) measuring 5" x 3 3/4"

  • Layer #3 - Inside: Basic White measuring 5 1/4" x 4"

  • Layer #4 - Inside Strip: DSP measuring 5" x 3/4"

  • Sentiment Layer: Gray Granite measuring 4" x 3"

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Cardstock & Paper: cut and score/burnish all cardstock and DSP as described above

  2. Ink the script image/stamp with Gray Granite ink, lightly stamp off on scrap paper, and stamp the 2nd generation on the lower right corner of the DSP

  3. Ink the script image/stamp with Gray Granite ink, lightly stamp off on scrap paper, and stamp the 2nd generation on the top left corner of the DSP (stamp only the bottom portion of the image/stamp)

  4. Ink the branch of leaves image/stamp with Gray Granite ink, lightly stamp off on scrap paper, and stamp the 2nd generation downward from the top left corner of the DSP

  5. Ink the branch of leaves image/stamp with Gray Granite ink and stamp at full strength downard from the top left corner of the DSP, slightly angled to the right so some of the stamped image overlaps with the first branch of leaves

  6. Optional Step: mix a small amount of white acrylic paint with a small amount of water and use a paint brush to splatter the paint on Layer #2 DSP; let dry

  7. Dry emboss Layer #1 Gray Granite cardstock with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder

  8. Distress the edges of Layer #2 DSP with paper snips/scissors or a paper distresser tool, such as the Tim Holtz Thread Cutter/Paper Distresser

  9. Punch the Gray Granite sentiment cardstock layer with the Elegant Tag Punch

  10. Lightly blend Gray Granite ink around the edges of the punched sentiment layer (I went too dark on this card, but made a second that came out much lighter, I also used white embossing powder for the sentiment instead of silver, as noted below)

  11. Apply anti-static powder, if you have it, to the sentiment cardstock

  12. Stamp the sentiment with VersaMark WaterMark Stamp Pad on the cardstock from the previous step

  13. Cover the stamped sentiment with silver embossing powder (note: white looks much better), then tap off excess powder

  14. Heat set the embossing powder with the heat tool

  15. Adhere embossed Layer #1 to the front of the card bbase

  16. Adhere Layer #2 DSP to the front of the card with Foam Adhesive Sheets or Stampin' Dimensionals

  17. Adhere the sentiment tag to the top right of the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

  18. Adorn the tag with silver Simply Elegant Trim; adhere with Mini Glue Dots

Here's a photo of the second card I made -- I used a lighter hand when blending ink to the edges of the punched sentiment layer and used white embossing powder instead of silver. I also added splatters of black with the black Stampin' Write Marker.
