Did you know that the black rose isn’t black at all? In fact, black roses are deep, dark shades of purple, maroon, and red. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a black rose in person, but I know they are popular incorporated into Halloween décor. This card was inspired the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper (DSP). I thought I would try a combination of the To a Wild Rose and Hallows Night Magic stamp sets and the coordinating dies for both.

Layering Tip: to align the stamps, find one edge of the stamp that sticks out to you and is present on each stamp; this spot will be the focal point for lining up the layering stamps
Rose Layer 1
Apply the base layering stamp from the To a Wild Rose stamp set to your ink block or place it on the Stamparatus, if you’re using it
Cover the stamp in Gray Granite ink
Optional step: apply Smoky Slate ink to a sponge dauber and dab it on the outside edges of the stamp
Stamp the first layer to Whisper White cardstock
Repeat steps to create the base layer for the second rose
Rose Layer 2
Apply the second layering stamp from the To a Wild Rose stamp set to your ink block or place it on the Stamparatus, if you’re using it
Cover the stamp in Smoky Slate
Optional step: apply Gray Granite ink to a sponge dauber and dab it on the outside edges of the stamp
Stamp the second layer on top of the first
Repeat steps to create the second layer on the second rose
Rose Layer 3
Apply the final layering stamp from the To a Wild Rose stamp set to your ink block or place it on the Stamparatus, if you’re using it
Cover the stamp in Tuxedo Memento Black ink
Stamp the final layer on top of the first
Repeat steps to create the final layer on the second rose
Die Cutting

Let air dry for at least 30 seconds
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Adhere the Magic in this Night DSP to the top of the card base
Adhere the border die to the left side / edge of the DSP layer
Adhere the label/frame to the DSP layer (centered vertically, approximately 1/8” from the right corner of the DSP)
Adhere the two roses on top of the border and frame/label using Stampin’ Dimensionals
