I've been so inspired by Tami Hewlett - Swimming in Stamps -- her projects are phenomenal and they are created with amazing techniques. I created this card with the amazing Art Gallery Stamp Set, the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies, and the beautiful gilded leafing.
On this card, I used a technique Tami taught me for the flower and stem -- faux watercoloring. The stamps first stamped in a light ink, then a darker color was applied with a dauber. Next, I applied a little bit of water on the stamp before putting it to paper. Try it! Lift up the stamp and be wowed! Take a close look at the flower and stem on this card... it looks like a real watercolor painting! I added a few additional techniques to this card -- inked the embossing folder, blended color in several places on the embossed layer to give it more depth, and lightly blended ink on the vellum. And, the the card absolutely had to feature the wonderful gilded leafing!
This card has was submitted to The Spot Creative Challenge #149 and was chosen as the winner. I was so excited to hear the news!

Fuax Watercolor Tip #1: if you get a "muddy" look to your faux watercolor stamped image, you likely need to use less water.
Fuax Watercolor Tip #2: don't toss the "muddy" image -- let it dry and see how it turns out...you might like the look!
Fuax Watercolor Tip #3 instead of adding water with a water painter / brush, you can also spritz water on the inked stamp before putting it to paper.
Instructions
Prepare Your Cardstock: cut/trim/score all cardstock and/or DSP as described above
Ink the floral stamp (use the filler stamp) in Petal Pink Ink (apply the stamp to the ink pad as you normally do). Apply Pumpkin Pie ink in various places on the stamp (focus in the center) with a dauber. Then apply Poppy Parade ink to the outer edges of the stamp with a dauber. Before stamping your paper, use a water painter to add a small amount of water over the stamp. Then stamp your image to paper. NOTE: if you get a result that looks "muddy" try again with less water or spritz water onto the stamp instead of applying with water painter. Set aside to dry.
Ink the stem of leaves in Old Olive (apply the stamp to the ink pad as you normally do) then apply Mossy Meadow ink to the edges of the stamp with a dauber. Set aside to dry.
Using a blending brush, apply Petal Pink ink to the embossing side of the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. Apply a light coating on the EF, then build up more ink in the corners and edges. NOTE: the embossing side of the folder is the inside of the top, where the Stampin' Up! logo is placed
Place the Panel #1 (white cardstock) inside the EF and run through the die cutting machine
Adhere Panel #1 to the front of the cardbase
Apply two strips of tear & tape towards the center of the card -- apply the first strip of tape at ~ 2 3/8" down from the top and the second strip directly underneath
Remove the tear & tape protective paper and rub Gilded Leafing on the tape; give it a good, firm rub to ensure good coverage before wiping/brushing off the leafing that doesn't adhere; reapply if needed
Adhere Panels #2 - #5 -- center them under the strips of Gilded Leafing
Stamp your sentiment then die cut with the coordinating die
Die cut the flower and stem of leaves created above
With the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies, die cut a circle from vellum cardstock
Lightly apply Petal Pink ink to the vellum with a blending brush. It won't be very noticeable so you can skip this step if you prefer.
Adhere the vellum circle to the front of the card -- place it about 3/4" down from the top of the embossed panel and let it overlap the Gilded Leafing and DSP. Put the adhesive in the center of the vellum, where it won't be seen once the flower is adhered.
Adhere the flower and stem of leaves together, then adhere them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals
Adorn the card with ribbon, such as the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (Gold Metallic Trim)
Adhere sentiment
