The Spot Challenge this week is a Case the Designer challenge. And, this is a HUGE challenge for me because the designer is the amazing, talented, imaginative, and innovative Jay Soriano of Mitosu Crafts. I'm both excited and terrified to submit my card to the challenge -- Jay is a respected crafter, moreover, he is a dear friend of mine...I hope I have risen to the challenge with my card project.
I have chosen to CASE a card Jay designed using the Emboss Resist technique. I have only attempted this technique once before -- for The Spot Challenge #136 in fact.
Emboss Resist Technique: this is a technique that involves heat embossing (and who doesn’t love heat embossing?). Stamp your image with VersaMark, sprinkle with white or clear embossing powder, melt the powder with your heat tool, let cool, then create your own background with the ink blending technique with the medium of your choice (such as ink or watercolors). When you have the background just the way you want it, take a a clean paper towel, wipe the ink off the embossed image areas and watch the amazing reveal – the embossed image resists the ink, revealing a white image.
Take a look at Jay's fabulous card:
