Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn Grateful Leaf Wreath Card

Living in the north eastern portion of the USA, I am lucky to see a spectacular display of colorful fall leaves. For this card, I used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn stamp set. The goal for this card is to highlight both the beautiful colors of fall leaves as well as the sentiment.

PROJECT RECIPE

Ingredients

  • Stamp Set(s): Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set

  • Dies: Stitched Shapes Dies

  • Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White

  • Ink Pads: Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, VersaMark

  • Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Foam Adhesive Sheets

  • Other: pencil and eraser

Tools

  • Basic Supply Kit: paper trimmer, paper snips/scissors, bone folder

  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (die cutting machine)

  • Heat Tool

Techniques

  • Stamping Off / Generation Stamping (3rd generation)

Measurements

  • Card Base: Early Espresso cut to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”

  • Car Front Top/Mat Layer: Pumpkin Pie cut to 5 ¼” x 4”

  • Whisper White: 5” x 3 ¾”

  • Sentiment: Early Espresso ~ 2 ½” x 2 ½” (sufficient to accommodate the 2nd largest circular die from the Stitched Shapes Dies)

  • Optional Inside Layer: Whisper White cut to 5 ¼” x 4”

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY

Prepare Your Cardstock

  • Cut/trim/score all cardstock and DSP as described above

Sentiment

  1. Die cut a circle of Early Espresso cardstock using the 2nd largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies

  2. Ink your sentiment with VersaMark

  3. Stamp your sentiment on the cardstock

  4. Add embossing powder

  5. Heat set with your heat tool

Leaf Wreath

  1. Set your circular sentiment cardstock on top of the Whisper White cardstock, centered vertically and horizontally

  2. Lightly trace the circle with a pencil. The traced circle will serve as your guide for creating your leaf wreath.

  3. Stamp the cluster of leaves from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp set in Old Olive ink around your circle four times in the top left, top right, bottom right, and bottom left areas of the circle

  4. Stamp the outline stamp for the wide Maple leaf in Cajun Craze four times around your wreath.

  5. Use the coordinating filler Maple leaf stamp to fill in the outline stamps in the 3rd generation of Cajun Craze ink (i.e. ink up your stamp and stamp twice on a sheet of scrap paper; then stamp your leaf; re-ink and stamp off twice for each leaf on your wreath)

  6. Stamp the outline stamp for the narrow Oak leaf in Pumpkin Pie four times around your wreath.

  7. Use the coordinating filler Oak leaf stamp to fill in the outline stamps in the 3rd generation of Pumpkin Pie ink (i.e. ink up your stamp and stamp twice on a sheet of scrap paper; then stamp your leaf; re-ink and stamp off twice for each leaf on your wreath)

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

  1. Gently erase the pencil lines from your wreath and adhere the sentiment to the cardstock with glue then adhere the Whisper White layer to the Pumpkin Pie layer

  2. Cut several wide strips from a foam adhesive sheet, apply them to the back of the Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and adhere to the Early Espresso card base

  3. Adhere your inside layer of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of your card and decorate with stamps as desired
