Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature Thanksgiving Card

Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature Thanksgiving Card | Krista Cleary-Yagci | The Stamping Nook

This card was designed for The Spot Challenge #128. The color challenge required use of Merry Merlot, Bumblebee, Crumb Cake and any type of metal. I reached for one of my favorite nature stamp sets — Rooted in Nature is one of my favorite stamp sets because the beautiful nature elements and its versatility -- it can be used for all occasions.

This card feautres a a gold hoop with the leaf elements -- I was aiming for a wreath-like arrangement. The very vanilla mat layer embossed with the Tasteful Textiles 3D to add another layer of dimension to the card. The sentiment came from the Banner Year stamp set.

The card may appear to be difficult to create but in actuality, it is quite simple. The majority of the work is die cutting followed by channeling your inner floral designer to arrange the leaves around the gold hoop embellishment.

INSTRUCTIONS

CARDSTOCK PREPARATION

  • Cut/trim/score all cardstock and DSP as described above

Die Cutting

Using your die cutting machine and the Forever Flourishing Dies, cut the floral embellishments as desired. Pictured below are the dies used on this card. Create die cuts from both Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue cardstock.

Stamping & Die Cutting

  • Stamp 2-3 of the leaves and the sprig in each of the ink colors (Merry Merlot, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake)

  • Using the Nature’s Roots dies and your die cutting machine, die cut each of your stamped images

Putting it All Together

  1. Tap into your inner florist to arrange the leaves and sprigs as desired, using the gold hoop as a guide for leaf placement; also use your card front top panel (Very Vanilla) to gauge placement of the wreath hoop (but don’t adhere yet)

  2. Once you like your layout, adhere the leaves together

  3. Adhere the arranged leaves to the gold hoop using Mini Glue Dots

  4. Emboss the card front top panel

  5. Adhere the card front base panel (Merry Merlot) to the card base (Crumb Cake)

  6. Adhere the embossed card front top panel (Very Vanilla) to the card front base panel (Merry Merlot)

  7. Adhere the wreath hoop to the top panel (Very Vanilla)

  8. Stamp the sentiment on the embossed top layer in Merry Merlot ink

  9. Adhere the inside panel (Very Vanilla) to the inside of the card base (optional: adhere leftover die cuts or stamp leaves on the cardstock, prior to adhering to the card base)
