The ink splatter technique is one of my absolute favorites, but I recognize it isn't everyone's cup of tea. I love the look -- the texture and dimension -- it gives a card design but, quite frankly, it is straight up pure fun for me. Needless to say, when I saw this week's Splish Spash challenge (#145) from The Spot Creative Challenge, I had to jump in and play along. I pulled out the gorgeous Stampin' Up! To a Wild Rose Stamp Set and coordinating Wild Rose Dies and went to town, enjoying every moment spent creating this card. Side Note: this is an absolutely wonderful stamp set and I haven't given it a lot of use -- it is time to change that!

Cardstock Layers and Measurements
Layer #2 Note *: I added 3/4" to the Basic White cardstock (Layer #2) for a reason -- since that cardstock will be splattered with ink and I wanted to add a small strip of splattered cardstock to the inside of the card, I made the layer a bit larger so I could trim it down and use the remaining 3/4" strip for the inside of the card
Preparing the Shimmer Spray Mixture
Add 5-10 drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint into a Stampin' Spritzer bottle. Then fill the bottle to the middle with isopropyl alcohol. Shake vigorously. Note: the amount of shimmer paint added to the solution is up to you, per your taste, so you may want to start with fewer drops and conduct a test before adding more shimmer paint to the mixture.
To a Wild Rose Two-Step Stamps
This stamp set is categorized as a two-step stamp set, but I consider it a layering stamp set with 3 layers. For this card, I used stamp/layer #1 (the outline) and stamp/layer #3 (the detailed stamp), as show here:
Instructions
Prepare Your Cardstock: cut/trim/score all cardstock and/or DSP as described above
Stamp the wild rose outline image (Stamp/Layer #1) twice to create two flowers; stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Stamp the detailed image (Stamp/Layer #3) on each flower in Bermuda Bay ink
Stamp four (4) outlined leaf stem images in Bermuda Bay ink
Die cut the flowers and stems of leaves
Now the fun begins...
Splatter the black cardstock (layer #1) with the Frost White Shimmer Paint then let dry. There are various methods to achieve the splattered look, but I prefer to pour a bit onto a stamp block, rub a paint brush through the paint, and tap the paint brush with my finger to splatter the cardstock.
Spritz the black cardstock (layer #1) with the shimmer paint mixture then let dry.
Splatter the white cardstock (layer #2) with Bermuda Bay ink then let dry. Again, there are various methods to achieve the splattered look but I chose to use a few drops of Bermuda Bay reinker and my paint brush. Like I did with the shimmer paint, I rubbed my paint brush through the ink and tapped it over the cardstock.
Spritz the white cardstock (layer #2) with the shimmer paint mixture then let dry.
Trim 3/4" X 4 from the white cardstock and save for the inside layer.
Adhere the white cardstock (layer #2) to the black cardstock (layer #1).
Stamp the sentiment on black cardstock with the VersaMark ink; cover with white embossing powder, and heat set.
Fussy cut the sentiment.
Arrange the flowers and stems of leaves and adhere to the white cardstock (layer #2).
Color two large or medium Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends marker and adhere to the center of each flower.
Color four (4) small Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Black Stampin' Blends marker (or, use a Black Sharpie if you don't have the Blends marker); adorn the card as desired.
Adhere the sentiment to the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere the card layers to the card base with Adhesive Foam Sheets or Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere the trimmed, splattered white cardstock from step #11 to the inside layer (#3) of white cardstock.
Adhere Layer #3 to the inside of the card
Here is a close-up look showing off some of the sparkle of the shimmer spray.
